Ekiti Rep Member Escapes ‘Assassination’ As Gunmen Invade Home

AROWOSOGE ABIOSE IFEOLUWAThe member representing Ekiti South West/Ikere/Ise-Orun federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon Ifeoluwa Arowosoge on Friday narrowly escaped death as suspected assassins invaded his house in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital.

The lawmaker accused the state government of being behind the alleged attempt on his life to obstruct the forthcoming polls.

In the operation that lasted for about 30 minutes, the suspected assassins broke into the house of the lawmaker, damaging the two doors that linked the living room and traced his wife, two kids and the house-help to the pent room, where they were hiding.

Arowosoge, lamented that members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state have been subjected to attacks in recent times, asking that “even if it was a case of robbery, why is it that only members of APC were being attacked including the party’s national chairman, John Odigie?”

When contacted, the State Police Public Relations Officer, spokesman in the state, Victor Babayemi, said police preliminary investigations indicated that it was a clear case of robbery and not an assassination attempt.
