Ben Arfa Set to Return to France with OGC Nice

Hatem Ben Arfa has agreed to join Nice subject to a medical, the French Ligue 1 club have announced.

Ben Arfa’s loan stint at Premier League club Hull City was cut short having failed to impress manager Steve Bruce, and his parent club Newcastle are willing to cash in on the midfielder, who has managed 13 goals in four seasons at St. James’ Park.

Bruce admitted in December that the France international’s career with Hull was over after the 27-year-old went AWOL from Hull training. The manager later expressed dissatisfaction with his lack of work ethic.

The former Lyon and Marseille midfielder, who only featured for the Tigers in nine league matches, subsequently returned to Paris and was training on his own.

He “will have a medical on Monday prior to signing with Le Gym,” says Nice, currently sitting in 11th position in Ligue 1 just three points clear of the relegation zone.
