Two clergymen have been sentenced to seven years imprisonment each for stealing N32 million from investors in a wonder bank. They are Pastor Glory Abrefera and Reverend Vincent Okpogu.

The clerics were arrested on the allegation of deceiving members of the public into investing in Mustard Seed Micro Investment Limited, a wonder bank, where they were said to have defrauded the investors.

A Delta State High Court sitting in Warri has sentenced convicted the accused on the nine-count charge levelled against them by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Justice F. Ohwo sentenced them to seven years imprisonment on each count with the sentence to run concurrently. He held that they would serve the term at Okere Prisons in Warri, Delta State.

Prosecutor, Mr. G. Latona noted that “both accused are still answering to other charges before another state high court sitting in Otor-Udu for related offences.”
