Kebbi Guber Primary: Eight PDP Aspirants Demand Fresh Congress

PDPEight Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial aspirants in Kebbi State, who were part of the botched gubernatorial primary election which was canceled on Monday, have asked the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party to conduct fresh congress and bring to justice those who undermined the botched exercise.

In a three page communique signed by the aspirants, Alh.Ibrahim Aliyu, the deputy governor, Sen. Muhammadu Magoro, Zubairu Abdullahi Turaki, Dr. Musa Zagi, Saidu Samaila Sambawa, Prof. Abubakar Mohd.Gulma, Gen. M.D.Isah Danhanne, Hon. Mohamed Sani Umar Kalgo and read by Dr. Musa Zagi Argungu and made available to journalists last night at Cabinet Office in Birnin Kebbi, the aggrieved aspirants gave the following reasons to press home their demand to the NWC.

“That screening and accreditation before the commencement of primary election as required by PDP guidelines did not take place and the number of accredited candidates was not announced contrary to the PDP guidelines.

“That delegates register provided by PDP headquarter in Abuja did not tally with delegates register used for the conduct of the election. Names were substituted and assumed in some cases.

“That the chairmen and vice chairmen of local government councils whose tenure expired since Sept. 17th, 2014 were allowed to participate in the election”.
