Insurgency: Nigeria Needs Special Prayers – Kwankwaso

Rabi'u KwankwasoNigeria is in dire need of special prayers to overcome the persistent insurgency and political tension ahead of 2015 general election, Governor Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso of Kano State, has said.

Kwankwaso, who is a presidential aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, said this during special prayers offered for the state and the nation by prominent Northern Islamic scholars at the Kano Government House, on Friday.

He insisted that the country has never found itself in such a precarious situation.

The governor pointed out that what happened at the Kano Central Mosque penultimate Friday, where hundreds of worshippers were killed by suspected terrorists, was never expected to happen, lamenting that the North-East crisis has resulted in the deaths of several people, while millions were now living as refugees in neighboring countries.

According to Kwankwaso, whenever a person tunes a radio, television or browse the internet, the news that usually greets one is wanton killings and destruction of properties, saying this would not augur well for national development.

He, therefore, appealed to the Ulamas to seek God’s intervention on the unfavorable situation so that peace would reign in the country.
