Barca Seal Convincing Copa del Rey Win at Huesca

Barcelona secured a 4-0 win over third-tier team Huesca in the first-leg of their Cope del Rey fourth round tie.

Ivan Rakitic broke the deadlock after 12 minutes and Andreas Iniesta doubled the visitors’ advantage four minutes later.

Pedro Rodriguez added a third six minutes before the break and Rafinha rounded off a comfortable win on 72 minutes. The return-leg comes up at the Camp Nou on December 16.

Atletico Madrid also cruised past another third-tier opponent Hospitalet, courtesy of Antoine Griezmann (67’), Gabi (P) and Cristian Rodriguez’s strike in the closing ten minutes.

The winner of the clash between Atletico and Hospitalet face Real Madrid in the round of 16 on January 7.

Deportivo La Coruna and Malaga ended their all-Primera Division match-up one goal apiece, with Jose Toche leveling Nacho Camacho’s opener.

Jhon Cordoba struck in the 25th minute to hand Granada a 1-0 win over Cordoba, who saw Patrick Ekeng sent off in the 71st minute.

Iago Aspas scored thrice as Sevilla thrashed Sabadell to advance into the fifth-round of the Copa del Rey.

Sevilla had won the first leg 6-1. On resumption of play Juan Collantes opened scoring for the Segunda Division team on 22 minutes from the penalty spot.

Kevin Gameiro leveled for Sevilla on the half-hour mark. Aspas converted his hat-trick in the 59th, 60th, and 62nd minutes to place the contest beyond the visitors. Gerard Deolofeu made it 5-1 (11-2 on aggregate) nine minutes from time.
