Scores have been reported killed by gunmen suspected to be Fulani mercenaries, following an attack on Digan Dogo in Kadarko community of Keana Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, Saturday morning. Several people were also said to have been injured.
The mercenaries, who besieged Kadarko at around 5:30 a.m, started shooting at sight and setting houses ablaze, The Nigerian Tribune reports.
Nasarawa State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Ugochukwu Theodore confirmed the attack. He however could not confirm the number of casualties, but said that the situation was under control.
Policemen had since been deployed to all troubled communities in the state in order to forestall further breakdown of law and order.
Why must it be Fulani herdsmen that initiate attacks all the time? The other tribes must learn how to get at them unnoticed. By the time you hit them one or two times. they will learn how to avoid trouble… No tribe have the monopoly of hitting first.
‘The man died’ in other tribes. Let d man resurrect in them. Blood for blood, life for life and d fulani will cease to forment trouble. ‘
