Woman Dies In Lagos After Falling Off Moving Train

A middle-aged woman has reportedly died at Iganmu area of Lagos, after falling off a moving train.

The Lagos District Manager of the Nigeria Railway Corporation, Mr Akin Osinowo, confirmed this in Lagos on Friday.

The woman who was being conveyed by a tricycle was said to have sighted the train headed for her Apapa-Ijoko route, which made her alight hurriedly from the tricycle and struggle to join the moving train. Unfortunately, the woman fell off the train.

“As I am speaking to you, I cannot say the extent of damage she would have encountered but I can say that the case has been reported to the police at the railway compound, Ebute Metta,” said Osinowo.

“I also learnt that some people came to claim the corpse yesterday (Thursday) but they were advised to get proof of ownership and I do not know if they are back this morning,” he said.

According to Osinowo, the woman may have died from injuries sustained from the fall.
