President Goodluck Jonathan honours famous Nollywood film maker and actress Omotola Jalade Ekeinde with the Member of the Federal Republic (MFR) award. Here you can see more photos.

Ekeinde who firstly doubted about going to the event – eventually decided to do it after listening “to the voice of wisdom”. She explains her accepting the National Honours being awarded by the president. Omotola had said that she had mixed feelings. And now, she’s very appreciative.

The 2014 National Honours Awards ceremony held last Monday at the International Conference Center in Abuja ahead of Nigeria’s 54th Independence anniversary.

A total of 313 people in the fields of politics, security issues, sports, entertainment, business and the corporate world were awarded for their outstanding contributions to country.

Among them are one more Nollywood star Joke Silva; the 77-year-old designer of the national flag Taiwo Akinkunmi; an Abuja traffic warden Solomon Dauda; the Chief Steward of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, who served nine Presidents and Heads of State Onuh Isaac Michael and many more individuals.

Information Nigeria recalls Ogala recently accused Elendu of allegedly lying that her store was looted and ransacked by hoodlums, who hijacked the peaceful #ENDSARS Protest organised by Nigerian youth.

The actress threatened to expose her colleague as she urged the latter to come out with the truth and stop deceiving people during this trying time.

Taking to Instagram, the film star explained that she has never hidden hatred for Elendu and she won’t allow anyone to take advantage of the current situation of the country.

“My older brother Matthew lost his life during a sickle cell crisis in Nigeria when he was 10 years old, to think if he would have been in a country with better healthcare support that his life would be saved today is heartbreaking.
