Man City are “Very Weak in Defence”- Ahmed Musa

Ahmed Musa says Russian club CSKA Moscow are ready to exploit Manchester City’s defensive frailties as both sides prepare to meet in a Uefa Champions League group stage double-header.

The Russian champions are bidding for their first win over City having lost their previous two meetings last season.

Musa’s brace helped Leonid Slutsky’s men rout fourth-placed Kuban Krasnodar 6-0 and keep a five-match winning streak in domestic competition on Saturday but, after losing two of their opening fixtures in Europe, the winger fancies his side have what it takes to unlock the Premier League champions’ “very weak defence”.

“We are going to use that advantage because in the couple of two games they played they are not that good,” said the 23-year-old.

“We know their weak point- they are very weak in their defence- so we are going to try to do our best to work against that. I think we are going to have a great opportunity because of the quality of the players we have.”

Last time out in Europe, CSKA fell short of claiming a point from their clash with German champions Bayern Munich in an empty Khimki Arena, and Musa is not happy about the fact that they will have to play Manuel Pellegrini’s men behind closed doors after their supporters were sanctioned for racist chant by Europe football’s governing body.

“We are going to miss the fans. It is unfair,” Musa said.

Former Manchester United winger Zoran Tosic opened scoring in the corresponding fixture last year but a quick-fire brace from Sergio Aguero dealt the killer punch in an encounter most remembered for another racist chant aimed at Ivorian defender Yaya Toure.
