Yoruba Community Donates Relief Materials To Displaced Persons In Borno

The Yoruba community in Borno state, Tuesday, donated relief materials to people who were displaced from their communities following attacks by insurgents Boko Haram in the state.

Oba of Yoruba in Borno, Alhaji Hassan Yusuf Alao led other members of the community to the NYSC orientation to present relief materials to the IDPs.

Alhaji Alao, who sympathised with the people over the unfortunate incident said the Yoruba community identified with the displaced people by donating relief materials to them.

“We feel the pain of the displaced people that is why we decided to present this token as our own contribution to assist the people. It is not this little gift that matter but the spirit behind it” the Oba said.

He prayed for the restoration of peace in the state and all over the country.

Relief materials distributed include food and other consumable items.

Chairman of the sub–committees for displaced people in NYSC camp, Abba Yarama Bukar who received the items on behalf of the displaced people thank the Yoruba community for identifying with the people in time of distressed. [Vanguard]
