President Jonathan Says He Has Reduced Poverty In Nigeria By Half

The current administration in the country has reduced poverty in Nigeria by 50 percent, said President Goodluck Jonathan on Saturday.

Speaking at the South South Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) political rally in Benin, tagged ‘Unity Mega Rally’, Jonathan said that the party was committed to food security and job creation in the country, adding that every leader must be committed to feeding the people of his country.

Jonathan further referred to the PDP as Nigeria’s only stable party, and one that supports members to climb to the echelon of their political aspirations.

He called for unity in the country and promised Nigerians that his administration would continue to improve on all infrastracture in the country, adding that since the country could conquer Ebola, Boko Haram will also be conquered in the country.

The president however appealed to the party loyalists to be decent in their various electioneering competitions in order not to create enemies among themselves.

Jonathan had earlier inaugurated the Benin-Ofusu Dual carriage way, which Governor Adams Oshiomhole described as top quality.

The governor also lauded the achievement of the federal government in infrastructural development across the country.
