Gervinho Extends His Roma Deal By a Year

Italian Serie A club Roma have announced that Ivorian forward Gervinho has signed a one-year contract extension.

The 27-year-old joined Roma from Arsenal in an €8m deal in the summer of 2013. The ASEC Mimosas product scored 12 timed in 37 matches in all competition for Roma in his first season.

His previous deal was due to run out in June 2017.

A statement from Roma read: “Roma announces it has extended the contract of Yao Gervais Kouassi “Gervinho” for a further sporting season. The new contract will expire on June 30, 2018.”

Gervinho was a member of ‘Les Elephants’ squad at the 2014 Fifa World Cup and featured in all three group games and scored twice.

He has already gotten among the goals for the Naples outfit this season, scoring the second goal in the 2-0 win over Fiorentina in their Serie A opener on August 31.
