A part of the Kogi State Specialist Hospital in Lokoja, the state capital, has been designated as an isolation centre to handle any likely outbreak of the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD).
This was disclosed by the Commissioner for Information, Hajia Zainab Okino, yesterday in Lokoja after the weekly State Executive Council (Exco) meeting.
The commissioner said though there had not been any reported case of the disease in the state, the government was not taking any chances on the matter.
Mrs Okino, however, urged the people of the state to maintain a high standard of hygiene, adding that the government was working hard to ensure that the state does not have an outbreak of the disease.
It’s good to note that there has not been any Ebola outbreak in Kogi State. It’s also our earnest prayer to almighty God that the epidemic will not step its foot in Kogi State before Ebola shall go back to the pit of hell where it belongs.
