Boko Haram Sponsorship: Fani-Kayode Jumps To Ihejirika’s Defence, Insists Buhari, Other APC Leaders Supporting Sect

Published

Boko-Haram-ShekauControversial former Aviation Minister, Chief Femi Fani-kayode has described as despicable, recent allegations by Australian negotiator, Stephen Davies that former Chief of Army Staff, Lt-Gen. Azubuike Ihejirika (retd), was one of the sponsors of the terrorist Boko Haram sect.

Davis, who has been involved in back channel negotiations on behalf of the federal government with commanders of the Boko Haram sect for the release of the 219 schoolgirls abducted by the sect since April, had in an interview, named Ihejirika along with former Borno State Governor, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, as sponsors of Boko Haram.

But Fani-Kayode said: “No one should be spared if the evidence is really there but I must say that I find the allegation that the former Chief of Army Staff, General Azubuike Ihejirika, is somehow involved with Boko Haram a little far-fetched firstly because he spent so much of his time, energy, career and resources fighting that organisation; secondly because that organisation killed so many of his own officers and men and thirdly because he is not a Muslim but a Christian.

“I have never heard of a Christian trying his best to help or assist an organisation to establish an Islamic fundamentalist caliphate which is committed to wiping out the Christian faith and killing every Christian, every secularist and every moderate muslim in his country. It seems to me that this is an absurd notion and that it really doesn’t make any sense but if the Australian has any hard evidence let us see or hear it.

“These are very serious allegations and I would be interested in seeing the hard evidence, if any, that he claims to have. I have always said that I believe that anyone, no matter which political party that person is in and no matter how highly placed or powerful that person may be, that is involved with Boko Haram ought to be captured, caged and brought to justice because I regard such people as nothing but bloodthirsty beasts”.

Mr. Fani-Kayode, who defected to the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, faulted the claims by leading lights in the opposition that the federal government and the PDP were the ones behind Boko Haram.

He said: “These individuals know very well that the APC as a party have far more sympathy for Boko Haram and far many more of their leaders and members have spoken up for and in defence of Boko Haram than anyone else. Just yesterday in Thisday newspaper one of them said that the Senator from Borno State that was facing terrorism charges was a PDP member. This is not true. The Senator that he was referring to is Senator Ndume and he is in the APC and not the PDP.

“Quite apart from that, certain things need to be noted. Let me remind those that are pointing fingers at the PDP now that it was not a member of the PDP or the federal government that said that Boko Haram should not be proscribed as an organisation, even after they had slaughtered no less than 15,000 innocent Nigerians in cold blood, sometime last year. It was rather the official spokesman of the APC, Lai Mohammed, who said so”, he insisted.

“It was not the PDP or any member of the federal government that told the world only last year that they were against the declaration of a State of Emergency in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa states, that an attack on Boko Haram was an attack on the North and that Boko Haram members ought not to be killed but rather they ought to be pampered, granted amnesty and treated in a gentle manner like the Niger Delta militants. It was the leading Presidential aspirant and one of the two co-owners of the APC, General Muhammadu Buhari that said so”.

    IS FANIKAYODE A RELIABLE POLITICIAN?
We need reliable, intelligent, objective, compassionate salient politicians in Nigeria. The bulk of stomach investment politicians trying to make themselves noticed are of boko use to Nigeria. They are confusionists, political touts with any program for the country except their stomach.
These are the calibre of politicians parading themselves as members of the two most popular political parties we have. That is why they continue to carpet cross.
People like Fanikayode is one of the mistakes Nigeria made as a minister. He is seeking recognition but irrelevant in this day that we are in dear need of honest and purposeful politicians to bring positive changes to this our great country.
Bringing his type into the present administration is one major mistake GEJ is committing. The time of unreasonable propagandar is gone.
Enough of character assassination when you can not bring out convincing and salent evidence or exhibit to buttress your point. Even if the number of unemployed graduates is on the increase, we still have increase in the number of literates. Therefore many people can steal read within the lines.
We are not interested in trading blames as the two for front political parties are doing. What Nigerians want to see is an end to Boko Haram insurgent.
If truly the parties care so much about this country, let them swallow their prides and fashion the way out to put an end to BH. If any one of them or the two are behind our problem they should stop the evil act and let peace rain. Only a bastard will pray for the destruction of his father’s house.

2023 Presidency: Bode George Cautions Buhari About Tinubu

Bode George, Tinubu

Chief Bode George, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party has warned President Muhammadu Buhari against supporting Bola Tinubu, National Leader of the All Progressives Congress for the 2023 Presidency.

Bode George made this remark in a statement titled, “The jamboree visit to the Villa: My Birthday Offering.”

The former National Port Authority boss warned Buhari against falling to the antics of those who would ignore the issues of Lagos State to engage in a needless scheming in partisan engagement.

Bode-George also condemned the recent visit of some APC chieftains, Chief Bisi Akande, Prince Tajudeen Olusi, Dr Yomi Finnih, and Chief Segun Osoba to the State House, Abuja.

The PDP chieftain said: “The visit of Chief Bisi Akande, Prince Tajudeen Olusi, Dr Yomi Finnih, and Chief Segun Osoba to the seat of power in Abuja is needless, unnecessary, veiled in some poorly hidden agenda that is woven in apparently self-serving ulterior personalised desperation.

“It is easy to discern that the visit is stripped of any patriotic progression, lacking in balanced national leadership, voided of a spirit of sacrifice and developmental vision. The very absence of Bola Tinubu from the jamboree screams to high heavens that the meeting itself is a covert placatory softening of the ground for Tinubu himself. I am pretty certain that in his very absence, Tinubu occupies the centrality of the discussion.

“I will advise Baba Akande who governed Osun State with principled, incorruptible leadership to kindly help us drop off Bola Tinubu at Iragbiji as he makes his way back to Ila-Orangun, rather than engaging in fruitless pleading sessions for a man who is fixated on a warped pipe-dream about governing Nigeria. He should pay restitution for the egregious stripping of the Lagosian coffers.”
