BBOG Group: Until Chibok Girls Are Rescued, Nothing’ll Silent Our Movement

BringBackOurGirls-protestThe BringBackOurGirls Group (BBOG) has declared that it would not give up in its campaign for the rescue of the Chibok schoolgirls abducted in April this year.

Reviewing Monday’s street protest in Abuja at its daily sit-out session yesterday, the group said that as the world celebrated World Humanitarian Day, it would press on with its call for the rescue of the girls.

“Since we have made commitment that we will always stand with the girls, we will continue to stand. Nothing is going to silence our movement. We just have to continue.

“During the street protest on Monday, someone was asking if we are still meeting and the answer one of us gave him was, ‘Have the girls been found?’ This is our stand; that we will continue to stand until the girls have been brought back”.

Also during yesterday’s sit-out, the members of the group were reminded of their core values, summed up in the acronym HUMANITEDES, which stands for Hope, Unity, Motivation, Affability, Nationalism, Integrity, Transparency, Empathy, Discipline, Equity and Sacrifice, and urged not to compromise them.

The group noted that having become immune to insults and attacks, it was beyond disorganisation and would continue with its campaign until the end.

“The group is beyond the Chibok girls. It is the only group that is giving us hope that there is hope for Nigeria, a hope that there is still something like one Nigeria. In this movement, you have people from different backgrounds and tribes. It is a group that gives us hope of a better Nigeria”, it further said.
