Adeboye Bans Delegates From Ebola Endemic Countries From RCCG Convention

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has banned delegates from Ebola-affected West African nations such as Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea, from attending the church’s ongoing convention, which opened Monday night at the church’s Redemption Camp along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

Adeboye, while speaking at the convention, expressed regret over the decision to bar members of the Church in the affected nations, but prayed that God would soon arrest the situation.

The development came two days after a Nigerian female doctor tested positive to the Ebola virus. A nurse, who also tested positive to the virus was yesterday confirmed dead by the Health Ministry.

Officials of the Federal and Lagos State governments had met with the RCCG leader to adopt precautionary measures by not allowing people from the infected countries to come to the church’s convention, which usually attracts thousands of participants.

Adeboye also told pastors at the church’s ministers ‘conference, that all those who fasted for 100 days the last time should have no fear of Ebola as the disease would not get to them.

He warned his pastors to avoid laying hands on anybody they suspected had full blown Ebola as they might contract the disease.

At the ongoing convention on Monday, Adeboye charged his members to embrace the habit of cleanliness, praying that the disease would not get to the country full blown and also at the convention ground.

  1. Its a shame that ordinary ebola palgue is striking fear into what we call the church today. My numble submission is that what is peddled as the church is powerless. Most so called believers have their brains seized and can see through all these that Almighty God is using this and others to expose the whole set up as a fraud. The true church will emerge from all of this and like the times of apostles of old, without binding and rebuking, the terror of the lord will Go before his apostles and him rescued ones and diseases and demons will flee at our appearing and even our shadows will heal the sick. Its ironical that the powerless prayer of the so called church can’t even scare Boko Haram, yet the terror of the lord is meant to go before us and terrify the enemy like israel of old and the church of the seventies and early 80s. Today, our papas and daddies are banishing people who need help from coming. Imagine holy apostles, prophets and our Lord jesus too scared to HAVE EBOLA CARRIERS around him. What an abomination. Wisen up people. These guys are DUDS. Set yourself apart and let God give you a blueprint for the heavenly life in christ formed by the holy spirit of grace.

  2. Christ himself brought all manners of people carrying various diseases around him, and the demons would scream each time they came close to him. We have been redeemed and christ lives in us as believers. Does it mean that we are just show men, and christ does not live in us. For if the spirit of christ lives in us and we are the carriers of his divine presence accordingly to the call upon us, the same spirit in christ that terrified and drove demons far and out, will also make the representatives of christ immune and fearless in the face of any epidemic or terror. Its time to begin to question what is being peddled as the church and ethereal salvation. Christ cannot be mocked and will not be mocked. Let every false teacher or prophet be a liar and let christ and his redemptive work of Grace hold true for every one who truly have taken up the new life in christ. Let the true church arise from the ruins of this massive fraud.

  3. @ Yinka Ola,since u kn that the church is powerless why don’t u go to sambisa forest and rescue the girls, then move to Liberia and lay ur hands on them to be healed,so they should come and spread the infection? Haven’t u heard dt prevention is better than cure.

  4. @ YINKA OLA. YOU ARE MY MAN ANY DAY ANY TIME. YOU HAVE JUST SAID THE REAL BITTER TRUTH. THE SO CALLED MIGHTY ADEBOYE PEOPLE ARE WORSHIPPING HERE AND THERE AM SURE CAN NOT EVEN BE BOLD ENOUGH TO GO TO LIBERIA TO PREACH. HE IS SCARED LIKE A CHURCH RAT.
AS FOR YOU BRAZEN GO AND EAT SHIT.

  5. @Ola Yinka: You have to understand that majorities of the followers don’t have the faith the General Overseer possess as a man of God and he must obey government instructions bcos being a man of God does not exempt you to obey the law. So the G.O must protect the interest of the country. G.O is taking precautions bcos of the members and bcos of the nation, not everybody that is coming to the covention come bcos of salvation, some will come to spread sicknesses or were you told that everyone that goes to house of God is pure? Even people who followed Jesus Christ still denied him and how many of them could cast out demons in days of Jesus Christ. Churches must abide by the rules of the government. God bless Nigeria.
