20 Caught For Violating Sanitation Laws In Ibadan

environmental sanitationMrs Oluwakemi Oyedeji, Director Environmental Health Services, Oluyole Local Government Area of Oyo State, said 20 residents of the area were caught on Saturday for violating sanitation laws.

Oyedeji said in Ibadan during the monthly sanitation exercise that the residents were caught at Orita-Challenge, adding that 13 of them were later released after satisfactory reasons while the remaining seven persons were prosecuted.

She said those that were prosecuted were told to pay fines ranging between N1, 000 and N2, 000 by a mobile court headed by Magistrate Nafisat Salaudeen.

She said only one of the prosecuted was able to pay fine while the remaining six offenders were remanded at the police custody to be charged to court.

Oyedeji commended the people of the area for coming out en masse for the sanitation exercise, urging them not to relent in taking part in the exercise to ensure good health. (NAN)
