Aston Villa has loaned striker Nicklas Helenius has been loaned back to Aalborg on a season-long loan deal.
Denmark international Helenius has struggled to make an impact since joining Villa from the Dannish outfit last summer.
The 23-year-old made just six appearances in total in all competitions for Villa last season.
Helenius’ agent Mads Bach Lund earlier claimed the 23-year-old was desperate to return home.
“Nicklas has one big wish: to return home with AaB. But he cannot wait indefinitely,” he said.
“On Monday he will take training at Aston Villa and on Tuesday AaB start a training camp. The stay at Aston Villa has not gone as we hoped.
“There are various reasons which we want to keep to ourselves. But Nicklas has reached an age where he must play and it appears he is unlikely to at Aston Villa.”
