Speaker of the House of Representatives Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has advised the federal government to negotiate with the Boko Haram sect over the release of the abducted Chibok girls, saying it would in no way put it in a weaker position in its fight against terrorism in the country.
Tambuwal gave the advice Tuesday when he hosted leaders of the #BringBackOurGirls campaigners in Abuja, saying such negotiation if embarked upon is merely a strategy.
“I have advocated for negotiation with the Boko Haram, and if negotiation is what will bring back the Chibok girls, let’s negotiate with them. Israel is currently negotiating. It doesn’t mean you’re submitting yourself, but it is a strategy,” he said.
Today makes it 92 days since the girls were abducted from their dormitory at Government Secondary School in Chibok, Borno State, with the campaign for their rescue commencing 15 days later.
Leader of the campaign group in Abuja, a former Minister of Education, Obiageli Ezekwesili, met with the House of Representatives leadership over efforts to secure the release of the girls 72 days ago. They therefore returned to the lawmakers to get an update and a reassurance that something concrete is being done.
Tambuwal assured the campaigners that efforts are on to secure the girls’ release.
He also noted that the government was facing such insurgency for the first time with a security that is ill prepared for the challenge. He however encouraged the campaigners not to relent in their efforts to constantly bring such important issues before the government.
What is he saying? Is he not part of the Fedral Govt. Let him start the negotiation first.

It amaze me at times, cos a house that is divided against itself can neva stand. Imagine One will propound a motion another will oppose, talking about negotiation, who will you confront! Have you made the BOKO BOIS before? If incase you knew them while not talk sense into their head. In the first place do you know their DEMAND?
