Suspected Armed Robbers Storm ThisDay Office in Delta

About seven gunmen on Sunday stormed ThisDay office in Boji Boji in Ika North-east Local Government Area of Delta State.

ThisDay reports that the gunmen suspected to be armed robbers stole valuables estimated at millions of naira.
It was gathered that the suspected robbers who gain entrance to the office complex through the fence drilled the wall of the building to gain access into the offices. It said the suspects carted away office equipment, printing materials, industrial fans, television set, heavy equipment, generator cables and some undisclosed amount of cash from the sales office.
According to Mrs. Sandra Eme, an Administration Officer said the incident took place at about 1: a.m. She said the suspects, who came with a pick-up van, tied the security men on duty before commencing their operation unabated.
The administration officer also revealed that the suspects after successfully operating for four hours, escaped with the motorcycles, of the security men.
It was further gathered that the picketed office housed the media’s multi-million naira South-east and South-south regional printing press and other subsidiary services departments that cover the zone’s operations.
Responding to the development, Mr. Eniola Bello, the Managing Director of ThisDay, said they were waiting for the outcome of the police investigation before taking any further action on the incident.
It was also gathered that the two security men that were tied by the assailants during the operation are currently giving useful information to the police about the robbery.
