P. Neville and Nicky B. Await United on Future Role

Phil Neville and Nicky Butt will know their fate at Premier League club Manchester United next week.

The ‘Class of 92′ duo, who were member of Ryan Giggs interim coaching staff -alongside Paul Scholes- following David Moyes’ dismissal last season are yet unsure what plan the club has for them.

With new boss Louis van Gaal set to join up with the squad soon, the former Everton defender, who has been working as BBC pundit at the World Cup in Brazil, expects to no his fate in few days’ time.

“Football moves on and sometimes you have to move on,” Neville told the BBC Sport.

“My future will probably be resolved in the next few days.”

The 37-year-old however feels he could “play a part” in the Old Trafford club’s football “in other ways”, were he to be excluded from the new coaching set-up.

He also said he has kept contact with the club’s chief executive, Ed Woodward.

Former United playmaker Butt also hopes to remain involved with the 20-time champions.

“There isn’t a role I would turn down,” said the 39-year-old, who was in charge of the club’s U-19 in the Uefa Youth League last season.

“The last 18 months have been about my development as a coach. The next step might be managing different aspects of the game.

“I am open to anything, but my biggest thing is to have a purpose. Whether that is with 12-year-old kids or the first team is irrelevant.”
