Kebbi APC Carpets State Govt Over Non-Implementation Of Minimum Wage

saidu_usman_dakingariThe All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kebbi State has accused the state government of non-implementation of N18, 000 minimum wage, which led to the state workers embarking on an indefinite strike action.

This is coming on the heels of the directive by the state chapter of Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, which said it had reached an agreement with government.

Addressing newsmen yesterday at the correspondent chapel office in Birnin Kebbi, the state capital, APC publicity secretary in Kebbi State, Alhaji Sani Dododo, wondered why the state government had to wait for workers to first embark on strike before agreeing to resolve the matter.

“Why hold people’s money, denying them the dividend of democracy? The level of poverty in Kebbi has increased, no money in circulation, no food and no assistance to anybody for Ramadan.

“I am happy that NLC has embarked on strike even though they have suspended, which forced government to reach an agreement.

“Let us see how his PDP would deliver Kebbi state in forthcoming 2015 general election”, Dododo added.
