Two Security Guards Attack Man With Machetes Over Unpaid Salary

Two security guards were detained by police on suspicion of a machete attack on a resident of the area in Frankazi Street, Bucknor-Ejigbo area of Lagos State, western Nigeria.

The suspects, Frank Olise and Emmanuel Olise, attacked one of the residents Bucknor-Ejigbo area, David James. The incident was provoked by a disagreement between the residents of the area and the security men over the non-payment of their salary.

The vexed guards hunted down their victim when he was returning home from work in the late evening, asked about his identity and brutally beat him with machetes till he fainted. The man who works as a professional painter only regained consciousness in a hospital and reported the matter to the police.

After a while Ejigbo Division police officers arrested two suspects and dragged in to a magistrate’s court sitting in Lagos. When they were arraigned, they pleaded not guilty. The presiding magistrate, Mr P. E. Nwaka granted the suspects bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum. The case is adjourned till the outcome of the DPP’s advice.
