Bayern Munich duo of Philipp Lahm and Thomas Muller have signed new contracts that will have them remain with the Bundesliga champions until 2018 and 2019 respectively.
Germany and Bayern captain Lahm, 30, told the club’s official website: “This is definitely my last contract and I will end my career at Bayern Munich.
“That was always my wish and I’m delighted it has happened.”
Muller, 24, who has been linked with a move away from Munich this summer, said: “The club convinced me that I’m in the right place and I have the feeling tha I’m an important component in the club’s plans.”
Speaking about the two players presently on national duty with coach Joachim Loew’s World Cup-bound team, Bayern president Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said they remain key players to Pep Guardiola.
“Both have remained faithful right from the very start and are going to play an important role in the future,” he said.
