Ex-Kogi Gov, Ibrahim Idris’ Wife Slumps, Dies

kogi_state, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, is dead.

She reportedly slumped and died as she was about performing the early morning Islamic prayers on Saturday.

It was learnt that Hajiya Zainab’s death came as a rude shock to both her family members and residents of the state as she appeared to be in good health by those who saw her on Friday night before she passed away on Saturday of an undisclosed ailment.

As a mark of respect and mourning for the deceased, the current state governor, Capt. Idris Wada, his wife, Halima and the state’s deputy governor, Arc. Yomi Awoniyi, all cancelled their official engagements.

It was also gathered that the deceased had been buried according to Islamic rites.

In her tribute to the late Mrs. Idris, the current first lady in the state described her predecessor’s death as a big loss to the state, the entire nation, and womanhood in general.

According to a statement issued by her media consultant, Abubakar Yusuf, Halima noted that the death of Hajiya Zainab had created a vacuum that will be difficult to fill.

Meanwhile, a condolence register has been opened at the office of the Kogi First Lady for the deceased.
