Babatunde Set to Miss the Rest of the World Cup Through Injury

Nigeria midfielder Michael Babatunde has been ruled out of the remainder of the World Cup with a fractured wrist.

The Portuguese-based player will be sidelined for three weeks after having a successful surgery on the injury.

“Unfortunately, he is ruled out of the tournament because it will take at least three weeks for that surgery to heal,” said Keshi.

Babatunde has since returned to the team’s base in Campinas, ahead of the trip to Brasilia for the second round clash with ‘Les Bleus’ of France.

Keshi encouraged Nigerians to remain upbeat as there are capable replacement for the Volyn Lutsk left-wing.

“It’s not looking good that he will feature again in the tournament, we are sad about that but we have people who can fill in for him very well and I think we have to go win for him now.
