World Economic Forum: Jonathan Approves Closure Of Govt Offices, Schools

WEFAs part of efforts to ensure a successful hosting of the World Economic Forum Africa meeting, President Goodluck Jonathan has approved the closure of all Government Offices and Schools in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, with the exception of those on essential services, from Wednesday, 7th to Friday, 9th May, 2014.

According to a statement by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Pius Anyim, private organisations with large number of staff may also wish to shut down during the period.

The statement explains that this is to ease the flow of traffic within the city and enable participants carry out their assigned roles and participate actively at the World Economic Forum Africa.
