Dutch Referee Bjorn Kuiper to Officiate Champions League Final

Bjorn Kuiper has been chosen to officiate the Champions League final between Spanish clubs Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid.

Both Madrid neighbours will be up against each other at the Estadio da Luz in Lisbon, Portugal on 24th May.

The 41-year-old Dutchman refereed last season’s Europa League final between Benfica and Chelsea in Amsterdam. He was the official in charge of Manchester United’s 3-0 win over Olympiakos in the quarter-finals of the competition on March 19 and also Manchester City’s 1-3 loss to Bayern Munich at the Etihad Stadium in October.

He took charge of last year’s Confederation Cup final between Spain and hosts Brazil.

German referee, Felix Brych, will take centre stage in next Wednesday’s Europa Cup final between Portuguese club Benfica and Spanish side Sevilla.
