2015: PDM Will Contest All Elections

pdm-chairman-1_0Mallam Bashir Ibrahim the National Chairman, Peoples Democratic Movement (PDM), has said that the party will contest all political offices in the 2015 general elections.

“As long as the party has a candidate for any political office, we will contest the election”, Ibrahim said on Thursday in Abuja in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

He however clarified that if the party does not have a candidate for an office it would not contest.

He said that the party’s inconclusive membership registration caused by logistics challenges would not enable it contest the governorship poll in Ekiti.

“As for Osun, we may contest the governorship election if we have members that are willing to implement our manifesto as governor”, he said.

The chairman said the party had interim structures in all the wards in the country and offices in all the 36 states and the FCT.

He debunked speculations that the PDM is an appendage of the Peoples Democratic Party.

Noting that corruption was the “root of all challenges confronting Nigeria”, Ibrahim stressed the need for the government to continue to tackle the menace.

The PDM was registered in August 2013. (NAN)
