LAGBUS is a multi-depot bus operating company with a fleet size of over 500 buses and staff strength of over 1,000 employees, providing intra-city commuter services within Lagos State, Nigeria.
Job description
- Supervision and management of technical staff required to maintain approximately 500 high capacity buses, deployed at a multi-depot bus operating company.
- Responsibility for supporting engineering staff and assisting them in controlling labour and materials costs in line with the engineering budget.
- Responsibility for coordinating and managing the day to day engineering activities
- Ensure key targets such as bus availability, bus reliability and engineering budget are met
- Development and implementation of engineering Standard Operating Procedures
- Responsibility for managing workshop staff productivity and performance
- General repairs of heavy duty vehicles
- Major diesel engine repairs and overhauls
Qualification and Experience
- Hands on / Practical knowledge of heavy duty diesel engines
- A minimum of degree or equivalent in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering (Workshop Manager & Workshop Supervisor only)
- A minimum of Trade Certificate 1, 2 and 3 in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering (Workshop Foreman only)
- A minimum of 5 years engineering workshop management experience (Workshop Manager & Workshop Supervisor only)
- Practical experience in leading multiple teams at multiple sites
- Good analytical skills
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to pay attention to details
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and experience in Fleet Management Systems (Workshop Manager & Workshop Supervisor only)
