Jonathan Commissions Multi-Billion Naira Abuja Water Project

President Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday commissioned for use, the multi-billion Naira ‘Phases three and four’ of the Abuja Water Treatment Plant with a pledge to provide portable water supply to all residents of the Federal Capital Territory.

This was contained in a statement sent via e-mail by Muhammed Sule, Chief Press Secretary to the FCT Minister, Senator Bala Muhammed.

According to the statement, the president commissioned the water project at the Lower Usuma Dam, Abuja.

The president noted that the multi-billion Naira water project was crucial as it would lead to the creation of more jobs in the society.

The statement quoted the president to have “promised to support the FCT Administration to complete the on-going Trunks Mains-conveyance system and storage reservoirs to the city as well as the Pipeline Distribution Network servicing Phases two and three of the city so as to fully reticulate water to the city”.
