FG, Borno To Partner On Renewable Energy

The Minister of State for Power, Hon. Mohammed Wakil said the Federal Government would assist Borno Sate government in building a renewable energy plant.

According to the Minister, the Maiduguri 330/132 kV sub station is at an advanced stage of completion, stressing that upon completion, power delivery will be tremendously improved in the state.

“I assure you that I will ensure completion Insha Alalhu for economic prosperity through improved power supply to our state and region. The project will improve power supply to Borno state with new feeders radiated out of the sub station. Plans are also in the pipeline to electrify some of our rural communities to create jobs and create wealth for our people”, he said.

The state, which has been troubled by Boko Haram attacks over the years have seen little of Federal Government-sponsored projects. The new project is expected to improve power supply in the state and reassure the indigenes that they remain part of the government’s plans.
