Nollywood queen, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, Nigerian famous musician, 2Face Idibia would be leading other speakers at the 2014 edition of the Nigerian Entertainment Conference, NEC.

The Nigeria’s entertainment industry summit which has entered year two has been scheduled to hold on Wednesday, April 23, 2014.

According to the Conference Chairman, Ayeni Adekunle, the event will once again take place in the Grand Ball Room of Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos, Nigeria.

‘We’re back at Eko for the whole day on Wednesday April 23, with even bigger speakers, remarkable panellists and participants from across the country,‘ Ayeni said.

Other confirmed speakers and panellists include, Co-Founder of Jobberman, Ope Awoyemi, Revered Showbiz consultant, Edi Lawani, and Founder/CEO of Africa Movie Academy Awards, AMAA, Peace Anyam-Osigwe.

Others are, Basketmouth, Digital Marketing expert and GM of Bytesize, Bukola Akingbade, Chairman of NET editorial board and COO Q Networks, Chris Ihidero, award-winning journalist, Olumide Iyanda, broadcaster and entertainment executive, Olisa Adibua and actress-producer, Uche Jombo.

Regarding the theme for this year’s edition, Ayeni said: “The theme for this year is “Creating Pathways to the Future”, with sessions on Nollywood, Social Responsibility, information technology, Music, Media and Business. Just like last year, our speakers and panellists this year are the best in their fields, with an incredible passion for the development of the industry.”

Topics for this year include: ‘Slaying The Collective Rights Monster’ (MUSIC); ‘Whose Content is it Anyway? (Media); ‘Using IT for Intervention’ (IT); ‘The Desired Future’ (Nollywood); ‘Why We should Care’ (Social Responsibility) and ‘Solving The Distribution Problem Once and for all’ (Business).

It was also gathered that popular comedian Tee A will return as conference moderator.

Nigerian rapper, Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, has said that he is not backing down until justice is served.

The rapper released a video via Instagram on Monday in which he reiterated that he is going to get justice for the brave ones who lost their lives during the nationwide #EndSARS protests.

Falz captioned the video with the words;

“We have to complete what we have started. It’s quite some work but as long as we stay committed to it, that change we want to see will definitely happen. I am charged up!!!!

Really pleased to see this spirit that we have built.
Now that we have come this far, we cannot stop!!

However, it is important to be smarter and more strategic with the movement. We have all the tools we need at our disposal so let’s get to work!

To the brave ones we lost, we are so sorry Nigeria failed you. We will not let you down! We will not relent until justice is served!! God bless your souls”

The media personality cum actress and fashion entrepreneur also wondered how the camera was unaffected by the fire from the gunshots and chaos.
