Niger Govt. Uncovers Plot To Flood Abuja With Aliyu’s Vice Presidential Campaign Posters

Babangida Aliyu and GEJThe Niger State Government said that it has discovered a plot by some “political jobbers” to flood the nation’s capital, Abuja, with presidential campaign posters bearing his image as running mate to President Goodluck Jonathan in the 2015 general elections.

In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Danladi Ndayebo, Aliyu said neither he nor the state government has any link to the posters.

“Those who are planning to paste those posters are neither agents of the state government nor that of the governor. They also do not have the sympathy of government or any of its officials”, the statement insisted.

The statement noted that the state government would continue to respect the decision of the national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which has not lifted the embargo on the commencement of campaigns for the 2015 general elections.

It therefore urged the public to disregard any attempt to link the state government and Governor Aliyu to the campaign posters.
