ICPC Arrests Pension Funds Thief

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, has uncovered a low cadre officer running a racket of short-changing the federal government of pension funds.

The commission also recovered over N469.325million being the accrued interest discovered in the pension Accounts and paid the same amount to the Sub-Treasury of the Federation and reduced the Pension funds accounts that were scattered in 40 banks to only four banks accounts.

Speaking to the House of Representatives Committee on Anti-Corruption, National Ethics and Values, Tuesday, ICPC chairman, Mr Ekpo Nta said that the Commission has arrested the man, who he said, was operating 50 different Bank accounts with 50 different names and 50 different signatures with several millions lodged in the accounts.
