They made the revelations while addressing the Northern Elders Forum in Kano, on March 10, 2014, Monday.

Zanna Hassan Boguma, who made a speech on their behalf, stated that the entire region is now engaged in full time war from enemy within, and the people are seeing hell.

This includes destruction of towns, villages, properties, schools and places of worship burnt, and, of course slaughter of innocent residents or travellers. This factors are bringing humanitarian crisis.

Therefore, the elders urged the whole country to be mobilized to stop the massacre, and to protect the vulnerable region.

The spokesperson accused the Federal Government of lacking the political will to address the crisis. He further noted that the solution to the crisis does not lie with the PDP or APC.

“This catastrophe which has befallen us should be the concern of all Northerners irrespective of tribe, region, or creed. Those of you who are residing far away shold know that other citizens needed your sympathy and attention,” Boguma said.

It would be recalled that the security forces and the army reported big success in the war against terrorists over the weekend. Chief Of Army Staff has also relocated to the North-East to coordinate operations against Boko Haram. But it is not clear if these measures become a break point in the war against insurgency.

  1. May God help us to renounce our sinful and selfish ways in this country. If we hate justice and choose to thrive in corruption and sin, then we can never evade crises and insurgency. Nevertheless, boko haram is a cult of people who have lost touch with humanity.
