Explosions Rock Maiduguri As Boko Haram Relaunches Attack On Army Barracks

Maiduguri-bombing1-2014

The 24-hour curfew imposed on Maiduguri and its environs following the deadly clash between Boko Haram terrorists and the military which led to loss of many lives has done little to deter members of the sect from their mission of destruction.

The army had Friday foiled a daring attack on Giwa Barracks, and had dealt with members of the sect, reportedly killing hundreds.

In what looked like a reprisal, multiple explosions and gunshots rocked the general area of the barracks at about 8:15am on Saturday.

Many of the terrorists were said to have regrouped and relaunched another attack on the barracks early Saturday.

According to an eyewitness, the ongoing multiple explosions and sporadic gunshots have forced many residents flee the area.

More to come…

  1. If BH were bold enough to attack an army barrack, which other area is safe? Where is the security for ordinary civilian? A thief that enters a strong man’s house must have been sure of his power and tactic to overcome him before the attack.
Our armed forces should always be battle ready. They are responsible for nation’s security. They should rekindle our trust in them for security.

  2. The more you kill members of the Boko Haram sect the members they get recruited bcos they are driven by the urge to revenge. Me think we should engage them through dialogue. Might may not be right. America relied on its might and has been fighting the so called war on terror since 2001 and they now engaging the Taliban in peace talks in Afganistan. Imagine, the US & NATO combined have failed to win the Taliban. So it would be pretty difficult to win the BH war through military might. The reason: any member of the BH sect is not afraid of death unlike the people they are killing. Lets be wise and forgo our religious and ethnic sentiments.

  3. What you have said is right if America can’t defeat Taliban in 13years and now want dialogue is very have for Nigeria to withdraw by by military force please find way to dialogue with to stop killing innocent soul please
