Coalition Of Northern Youths Vow To Protect Region From Further Acts Of Insurgency

borno_attackWorried by the frequent outbreak of violence is some parts of the North, the Coalition of Northern Nigerian Youth Congress, CNNYC, has vowed to protect the region from further acts of insurgency.

The group, in a statement signed by both its national president and secretary general, Mr. Hassan Waziri Chinade and Mr. Aliyu Bin Abbas respectively, expressed regrets that the north-eastern part of the country has been taken over by Boko Haram insurgents, describing the killing of innocent school pupils as barbaric.

CNNYC said they could no longer look the other as insurgency, ethnicity, religious bigotry and other challenges tear the country apart.

The group which is made up of youth representatives from the 19 northern states, met in Kano recently to examine some of the vexed issues, the statement said.

They, therefore, called on relevant institutions of government to be more proactive in putting an end to the crises in the region.
