Bauchi Lawmaker Abducted By Gunmen

kidnapA member of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Alhaji Yusuf Nuhu has been abducted by gunmen. The member, representing Lame District, was forcefully taken from his residence at Zalau village in Toro Local Government Area of the state.

Residents of Zalau said the incident occurred on Tuesday shortly after the lawmaker said his evening prayers and was leaving the mosque.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Haruna Mohammed, confirmed the incident, adding: “Due to hot pursuit of the miscreants by police, they abandoned their vehicle at Rahama village, a border town between Toro and Saminaka in Kaduna State”.

Mohammed said police recovered eight live ammunition and other items from the abandoned vehicle.

He added that a joint police and vigilante group has cordoned the entire area and have started combing the area in order to arrest the culprits.
