Contrary to the popular names being bandied as possible candidates for the position of Chief of Staff to President Goodluck Jonathan, a relatively unknown figure, Jones Arogbofa, has been tipped as favourite to clinch the job.

Some of the names that have been bandied in the media as possible candidates for the highly sought after job are founder of Africa Independent Television, AIT, Chief Raymond Dopkesi; former Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Mr. Steven Oronsaye; former Cross River State governor, Mr. Donald Duke and a former Justice and later Defence Minister, Chief Adetokunbo Kayode (SAN), among others.

Arogbofa, a retired military general and author of several books, who hails from Oka-Akoko in Ondo State, according to sources that spoke to Sahara Reporters, might emerge as replacement for the former occupier of the position, Chief Mike Oghiadomhe, a former deputy governor of Edo State, who recently tendered his resignation under unclear circumstances.
