Kano Pillars coach Abdul Maikaba has stepped down from his position over “unbearable conditions”.
A top source at the Nigeria champions told MTNFootball.com that the former Enyimba coach has informed the team technical adviser Okey Emordi of his resignation.
Pillars officials have however refused to confirm the report.
Maikaba led Pillars to a runners-up finish in the recent pre-season Super Four tournament in Abuja.
He served as assistant to former coach Mohammed Baba Ganaru in last season’s Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) triumph.
Ganaru left Pillars to join Nasarawa United after leading the club to clinching back-to-back league title.
