Newcastle Owner Won’t Search for Kinnear’s Successor in a Haste.

Newcastle owner Mike Ashley is not planing to replace former director of football Joe Kinnear immediately.

The sportswear tycoon will not make an appointment in the short term amid speculation that former director, Derek Liambias, could once again have a part to play, reports the Press Association Sport.

Liambias, an English businessman and long-term associate and friend of both Ashley and manager Alan Pardew, was not a fan favourite during his short stint which ended in similar fate as Kinnear on in June. Aside from criticising the club’s past players- like Andy Carrol- managers and fans, he even launched a verbal attack on fans favorite and legend Alan Shearer.

Former Magpies manager, Kinnear, resigned on Monday night after just a little above seven months in his role, during which the club did not make any permanent signing aside Loic Remy and Luuk de Jong, who arrived on loan from QPR and Borussia Monchengladbach respectively.

And after selling midfielder Yohan Cabaye to Paris St-Germain for £19m on 29 January, Newcastle did not recruit a replacement in the remaining two days of the January transfer window.

Meanwhile, reactions have trailed Kinnear’s resignation. The club’s record goalscorer Shearer told BBC Radio 5 Live in an exclusive interview: “That’s life at Newcastle united. I shouldn’t say I’m surprised but I was surprised in the first place when he was announced director, particularly the way the news was broken when joe himself announced it on the radio when he got some of the players’ names wrong.

“You just never know what goes on at Newcastle behind closed doors.”
