CAN Youth Wing Decries Recent Killing Of Students In Yobe

Yobe-School.jpgThe Youth Wing, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), has condemned the recent massacre of scores of students in Yobe State and called for proactive measures to put an end to such attacks.

The National President, Pastor Simon Dolly, said in Abuja Thursday that government should urgently address the situation before it spins out of control.

According to him, the killings in the country are becoming too frequent, urging government to redouble its security efforts in the troubled states.

“This is very unfortunate and very barbaric, how can people go and be killing innocent students?

“If the killing continues in this country, it may lead to a lot of crisis”, Dolly said.

He said peace was essential for any meaningful development in any country.

Dolly said more needed to be done in terms of protecting lives and property as well as ensuring that no more lives were lost to the insurgents’ attacks.

“The Federal Government should do something fast before it is too late; this should include beefing up its security measures in those affected states”, he urged.

It would be recalled that no fewer than 29 students were killed in their sleep when suspected Boko Haram gunmen attacked the Federal Government College Buni Yadi, Gujba Local Government of Yobe.
