Please Retrace Your Steps Back To PDP, Clark Begs Defected Reps

PDP-Members-Defect-To-APCA former federal Commissioner of Information and Ijaw national leader, Chief Edwin Clark, has appealed to the 37 members of the House of Representatives, who defected from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress, to return to the ruling party.

The elder statesman, who is a chieftain of the ruling PDP, made the appeal in Abuja yesterday when a delegation of south senatorial leaders from Kwara State paid him a courtesy visit at his residence.

Clark said it was wrong for the lawmakers to claim that they left the PDP because of alleged crisis when according to him, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, had said there was no crisis in the party.

Receiving the visitors in company with some other Ijaw leaders, Clark also urged the visiting delegation to support President Goodluck Jonathan’s second term ambition.

He said, “Those who defected to the APC in the House of Representatives should please retrace their steps by returning to the PDP.

“I’m appealing to them because it is illegal for them to have defected because the constitution of Nigeria frowns on such and I can tell you that there is no crisis in the PDP.

“Also, INEC also says there is no crisis in the ruling party. I’m appealing to them that they should remain in the PDP. Even if there is crisis in the PDP, the crisis that will soon happen in the APC will be greater than what we are experiencing in the PDP now”, he said.
