Former ACP, 23 Others Arrested Over Baby Factory In Ondo

Ondo State Command of the Nigeria Immigration Services (NIS) on Wednesday paraded 24 suspects, including a sixty-six-year-old man, Mr Aliu Ojo, who claimed to be a retired Assistant Commissioner of Police, following their arrest at a house allegedly being used as a baby factory  at Ilu-Titun in Okitipupa Local Government area of the state. 

The suspects also include the alleged kingpin in the operation of the factory, Mrs Happiness Ogundeji a. k.a. Mama Pota, aged 45, five ladies at different stages of pregnancies, five babies and eight men, some of who claimed to be husbands of the women.

Parading the suspects, the Comptroller General of NIS, Ondo State, Mr Musa Al-Hassan said the raid of the house and arrest of the suspects was sequel to a tip from the Comptroller General of the NIS, who directed the state command to work on a circular that emanated from Calabar, Cross River State. 

Al-Hassan said when he received the circular, which pointed out that searchlight should be beamed to Imo and Ondo States for the perpetrators of human trafficking and operation of baby factory, he instructed the Head of Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Labour Section of the command, Mrs Abiola Obisesan to swing into action.
