APC Cannot Afford To Repeat Same Mistakes Made By Defunct CPC. Says El-Rufai

nasir_el-rufaiThe Deputy National Secretary of All Progressives Congress, APC, and former Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, on Saturday enjoined aspirants on the platform of the party not to embark on campaign now but to turn their energy into building a solid foundation for the 2015 general elections.

El-Rufai, who spoke in Minna, the Niger State capital, at the commissioning of the secretariat of the state chapter of APC, said the party could not afford to make the same mistakes made by the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) during the last election.

The former minister also advised aspirants and party members to go back to their wards build the party and ensure a solid foundation for the party.

“I want to advise that all our aspirants campaigning now and indeed all members should go to their villages and wards to build the party. We should avoid the mistake made by CPC during the last election. We cannot afford to become a party of contestants without foundation”, El-Rufai advised.

He said with a solid foundation in all the 774 local government areas of the country, candidates of the party will have a good platform in 2015.

El-Rufai noted that the country could not afford another four years of misrule of the Peoples Democratic Party, hence the need for all APC members to join hands together and work in unity to rescue the country from the incompetence of the ruling party.

He also decried the growing level of corruption and promotion of religious and tribal sentiments by the ruling party in the country.

Interim North-Central National Vice-Chairman of APC, General Ahmed Aboki, while inaugurating the new secretariat, said with the coming together of all progressives in the zone, the party was set to take over all the six states in the region along with the Federal Capital Territory.

“With the spread and the growing acceptance of our party, I make bold to say that come 2015, North Central will cease to be a zone for the PDP but All Progressives Congress”, Aboki said.
