Obasanjo Has Spoken Well, Jonathan Should Resign – CNPP

Jonathan and OBJ

The Conference of Nigerian Political Parties, CNPP, has asked President Goodluck Jonathan to resign “because Obasanjo has clearly spoken the minds of all Nigerians and it is clear that Nigerians have lost faith in this administration.”

The Benue state chairman of the CNPP, Mr. Baba Agan who Thursday reacted in Makurdi, the Benue state capital, to the 18 page letter that was written to President Goodluck Jonathan by former a President Obasanjo said “the letter was explicit enough and it has actually opened the eyes of all Nigerians to how this administration is underdeveloping our country.

“Obasanjo is absolutely correct about all the issues he raised and I urge the president to save his face and step aside because we have never had it this bad as a nation.

“I actually praise the courage of the former President who has clearly shown that he is an elder statesman who does not waste time to raise an alarm when his country is drifting unlike some jobbers who hang around the president for survival.”

The CNPP chairman however, also blamed the former President Obasanjo for what he described as “the misrule and plunging of the nation.”

“Even though we appreciate Obasanjo for his bravery, we canoot also fail to point out that he shares in the blame for what this country is currently passing through.

“It was Obasanjo who pronounced President Jonathan as his son and thereafter imposed and fostered him on Nigerians, and what do we have today? This is certainly not we hoped for.

“The truth is Obasanjo should also be held responsible for all the pains inflicted on Nigerians, the misrule and underdevelopment of this country by the present administration, that s simply the truth,” Agan said. [Vanguard]

  1. Please, can anyone ask the former president OBJ what he did for good 8 years before begging for third term ? Compare to what Nelson Mandela did in SA within 5 years? OBJ promised a lot, He left the nation in dark without light, good road, water, job, our education system is out of it….. Gosh………..So, the man without shoe follow His footstep. Well! Everyone will get his/her punishment from God pretty soon. God bless my Country Nigeria.

I left Uni. 3 years ago still searching for job.
