FRACAS at Police Station in Minna Led to Arrest of Three Nigerian Air Force Men

The Police Command of Niger State said three men of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) have been arrested in connection with fracas at Tudun Wada Police Station in Minna.

nafMr. Richard Oguche, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), confirmed this to journalists in Minna on December 21, 2013, Saturday.

“This afternoon, six NAF men went to Tudun Wada police station and attacked officers and men on duty with jack knives and belts.

“The men were mobilised from the Minna NAF Base by a serving officer in Kano,” the PPRO said.

He further disclosed that the trouble started on Friday night when policemen on duty at Tudun Wada area apprehended the brother to the air force officer in question.

The man was arrested and his motorcycle impounded for violating the law banning the use of motorcycles in Minna from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Mr. Oguche added that the attack was checkmated by police officers and men on duty and three out of the six air force men arrested.

“The three men arrested are still with us,” the PPRO confirmed.
