Kano Pillars ended their African Champions Cup for Men (ACCM) 2014 campaign with a ninth place finish in the classification round after beating Mozambican side Ferroviaro Beira 91-92 in their last game in Sousse, Tunisia.
Abubakar Usman led the Nigerian champions with 29 points while Ibrahim Yusuf Adamu added 13.
Beira, whose players Presand Belle and Octavio Magolico shot 19 and 16 points in the loss, fell at 10th place.
The board showed 8-8 after the first 5 minutes of the game, while Kano took 16-12 lead after the first 10 minutes. They increased to 38:31 at the halftime. Ferroviario Beira reduced to 45:44 midway through the third period, but the Nigerian team took 57-54 advantage. Kano Pillars pushed the tempo for good in the last stanza and won the game.
Cours Ekpermong Edem produced 12 points and Mathew Omomorya came up with 11 points.
